Criminal Justice Organizations

National Criminal Justice Association: The National Criminal Justice Association represents state, local and tribal governments on crime control and crime prevention issues. Our members represent all facets of the criminal and juvenile justice community.
American Criminal Justice Association: ACJA improves criminal justice through educational activities; fosters professionalism in law enforcement personnel and agencies; promotes professional, academic, and public awareness of criminal justice issues, etc.
Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences: An international association to foster professional and scholarly activities in the field of criminal justice. ACJS promotes criminal justice education, research, and policy analysis within the discipline of criminal justice for both educators and practitioners.
American Society of Criminology: An international organization whose members pursue scholarly, scientific, and professional knowledge concerning the measurement, etiology, consequences, prevention, control, and treatment of crime and delinquency.
National Criminal Justice Research Service: A division of the US Department of Justice, the National Criminal Justice Reference Service (NCJRS) is a federally funded resource offering justice and drug-related information to support research, policy, and program development worldwide.

Information Resources

Bureau of Justice Statistics: The BJS collects, analyzes, publishes, and disseminates information on crime, criminal offenders, victims of crime, and the operation of justice systems at all levels of government. These data are critical to federal, state, and local policymakers in combating crime and ensuring that justice is both efficient and evenhanded.
Criminal Justice Information Services: The FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services Division, or CJIS, is a high-tech hub in the hills of West Virginia that provides a range of state of-the-art tools and services to law enforcement, national security and intelligence community partners, and the general public.
National Criminal Justice Reference Center (NCJRC): NCJRS is a federally funded resource offering justice and substance abuse information to support research, policy, and program development worldwide.
Uniform Crime Reporting--FBI: The Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program has been the starting place for law enforcement executives, students of criminal justice, researchers, members of the media, and the public at large seeking information on crime in the nation. The program was conceived in 1929 by the International Association of Chiefs of Police to meet the need for reliable uniform crime statistics for the nation. In 1930, the FBI was tasked with collecting, publishing, and archiving those statistics.
United Nations Office on Drugs & Crime Statistics: One of the key tasks of UNODC is to produce and disseminate accurate statistics on drugs, crime and criminal justice at the international level. UNODC also works to strengthen national capacities to produce, disseminate and use drugs, crime and criminal justice statistics within the framework of official statistics.
