Electronic Reserves

What are Electronic Reserves?

The Golden library maintains a selection of electronic course reserves for students use. Each semester instructors request digital copies of specific items be available for student use. Like the physical collection, electronic reserve material may change every semester as instructors add and remove material. Students may need a password to access articles in the Electronic Reserves which will be provided by course instructors or  can be obtained through the Golden Library Reference Desk at 575.562.2638 or . Students are encouraged to ask their instructors if required reading articles are located in the Electronic Reserves.

Electronic reserve material  is either open access material, material accessible via a Golden Library database subscription, or is password-protected in the electronic reserves system. If you click on a title and you are asked to login, follow these guidelines:

  • If you have a screen that asks for both a login and password, use your ENMU credentials.
  • If you have a screen with a single field asking for a password, please use the password provided by your instructor.

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, US Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted materials. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these conditions, fair use, specifies that the photocopy or reproduction is to be used only for private study, scholarship, or research. If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of fair use, that user may be liable for copyright infringement.
