K-12 textbooks, workbooks,and resource materials

K-12 Instructional Resources Collection Details

  • Contains Elementary, Jr. High and High School texts.

  • The collection contains textbooks, teacher resources, kits and unit plans.

  • Items are kept in the collection until superseded by new textbook adoption, usually six years.

  • Superseded materials will be given away every spring semester, usually in May. Check the home page for exact dates.

  • Materials are listed in the online catalog and can be searched by title, publisher or subject.

  • Materials can be checked out at the Circulation Desk on the main floor of the library or sent via Interlibrary Loan to students attending from a distance. 

 

Permanent collections

Big Book Collection:

It is located at the back of the K-12 Curriculum Collection and consists of books from previous curriculum collections.  There are many fiction and nonfiction books, both in English and Spanish.  The nonfiction collection contains books on various topics, including music, social studies, science, and art. 

Books in this collection can be found through a catalog search.  Big book titles that are also found in the Juvenile collection will have Dewey call numbers that match the call number for the juvenile collection copy. 

Globes:

The globes are either on a removable base or mounted on a ring.  They vary in size from 12 to 40 inches.

Types available:

Physical or sculptural relief. 

English or Spanish labeling.

Math Manipulatives:

Blocks (animal shapes, linking or traditional), building construction sets, chains, clocks, coins, compasses, counting sticks, cubes, dominos, geoboards, pattern blocks, tangrams, tiles.

Science Manipulatives:

Anemometer, building set, bubbles, cross-section models (brain, eye, heart), Healthy Helpings game, magnetic field viewing kit, magnifying glasses.

Language Arts:

I Have, Who Has games.

 Puppets:

Animals, feelings family, human families of various ethnicities, and career puppets.

Can I write in the Workbooks?

these materials are intended for multiple uses.  Please do not write on the pages of any material in this collection.

Can I borrow materials from the collection if I am a distance student?

Yes.  Please use the Distance Learning Item Request Form and include the exact material that you need in the Additional information about your request blank.  An example of the information that you will place in this blank is whether you need the student text, the teacher text or both.

Can I borrow materials from the collection if I am not a student or faculty member at ENMU?

Yes.  If you live in the area, you will come to the library, and and use your community borrower card to check out materials.  For more information about obtaining a community borrower card, go to the home tab and click on the Homeschoolers and Community Members - Get Textbooks tab.

Yes.  If you live at a distance you can borrow materials from this collection by submitting and interlibrary loan form at your local library.  Please include the exact material that you need in your request.  An example of the information that you will include is whether you need the student text, the teacher text or both.
